There would be no need for many charitable organizations if many of those that proclaim to be Christians truly did live by Scripture. There are endless Scriptures that pertain to YHWH loving the poor. If YHWH loved them, should not his children love them as well? Are not Christians supposed to take the poor into their households if they lack shelter? Are they not supposed to feed them if they are hungry? Christians are not supposed to be a respecter of persons because that is a judgement. How many times have Believers judged a book by its cover and then shamed because of that judgement. The exterior of people can be misleading, if that were not so, then con artists would not be a problem. The bottom line is that those that claim to be his children should love YHWH and to be obedient to the things that we are told to do. If one loves another, one does those things without asking simply because love itself desires to please the object of their affection. The Church today is so far removed from The First Church that was laid out in Acts 1-4.
Francis Schaeffer had warned of putting the American stamp on the Church in the nineteen fifties. That has turned out to be a prophetic warning and that is quite telling of the day and age that we inhabit. One can not please both God and Man. Wether we realize it or not, many of us serve two masters. That other master is money and the things that it may purchase. If one truly desires a deeper walk with YHWH, then give all that you have to the poor and follow Yeshua.
Our comforts blind us and that blindness sews the seeds of corruption. We do not realize our own corruption because we are Americans. If one has seventy five dollars in the bank, shelter, and food in the refrigerator, then that places them in the top twenty percent of the world’s richest people. Eighty percent of the world lives on less than ten dollars a day. Keep that in mind and remember what Yeshua said about a camel going through the eye of a needle before a rich man can get into Heaven. Do not misinterpret this as any claim that there will be no rich people in Heaven. It is the love of money, it is placing money or anything else before YHWH that gets one into trouble. The Parable of the Rich, Young Ruler is a perfect example of this. The bottom line though is that only YHWH judges and not Man. However, it would be wise to abide by his Word.
It may be said that Americans do not realize that they are so far from Heaven because affluence is all that we have ever known. There is a sorrow in such matters because ignorance prevails. Wisdom is lost in the counting of coins. How can one truly claim that America is a Christian nation when you look at our actions. It has not always been this way and yet this is where we decline ourselves today. The sadness of America is that we still ride the history of success despite not having made any contributions within this present day.
